Please keep in mind that each pregnancy is different and the growth rates vary from individual to individual. This information is based on general development. If you have any questions, please check with your gynecologist.
Fetal Development
As our pregnancy guide is calculated with the gestational age method, week one begins with the first day of your menstrual period. Conception hasn't yet occurred, but you already get to start counting. You will be amazed how time will fly week by week.
Maternal Changes
You have just had your periods and you must be thinking of getting pregnant. All those women who have a 28 day cycle, it is important for you to know that your ovulation occurs 14 days from the start of your menstrual cycle. It is necessary that you start a healthy lifestyle. Start your pregnancy diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Exercise, start taking folic acid, and stop smoking, drinking alcohol, and using over the counter medications. Keep yourself relaxed, stay away from toxic materials and don’t over exert yourself. If you are planning a baby, this is the right time to quit all those unhealthy habits now rather than wait for conception to occur and you become conscious. Think positive; imagine that you are pregnant, so that you conceive a baby in the best circumstances.
