Second Month

She loves to be curled up on your chest

Growth milestones:

-          As her neck control improves, your newborn will be able to keep her head up when you hold her in a sitting position.

-          Her hands also start to unfold.

-          She is gaining as much as half a pound a week.

-          During half the hours your baby is asleep and dreaming. Scientists believe that in this time they process the information they absorb during the day.

Responses:

Your baby will start to coo. You will also be able to notice her emerging temperament – a quiet thinker in the making, a feisty little girl or a budding social creature! She's fascinated by shapes and movements and will love to have a mobile as her favorite toy.

Bonding:

Your touch is healing. Do a lot of hugging, holding, caressing, and kissing. Imitating your baby's sounds and expressions is a fun way to communicate from now on.
